I dont understand why people are buying this hub (maybe you can make me understand ) Shouldnt Homey do the same thing or am i missing something

Well yes homey does mostly the same things, however as homey' s ir transmitter probably does not penetrate tv cabinets (where some people hide all their electronics like receivers), harmony hub offers a nice addition to homey. You can place the harmony hub inside those cabinets so that way it functions like an extender for homey's range. Also the harmony platform has a pretty broad integration with products and since homey can be integrated with the harmony via the harmony app already available, you can use homey to tell harmony what to do. You can also have the harmony hub create certain presets (the same idea as flows in homey) so it can turn on all your electronics in case you wan't to watch a movie with electronics that are not reachable by homey' s transmitters. I personally also like the flic integration which I don' t believe homey has yet. So basically it will function as a little helper for my homey but I don' t really know if there are any other advantages, I believe there also is an harmony hub topic here on the forum where a lot of people already discussed the usefulness of harmony in combination with homey so I would recommend checking that out too

I read it a little bit and basically homey is better at automation and harmony hub really specializes in the remote controlling functions. So having those two working together is like having best of both worlds. 


Oh yeah I also believe I read that the harmony hub remembers wether something is turned on or off, whereas with homey I' m not sure if it does.

Yeah that one could take away the if problem. But it' s currently not that cheap in comparison with the harmony hub functions and is does not have wifi and bluetooth so it probably won' t be able to turn on something like a ps4 will it? You get a lot more out of your money with the harmony hub then you would get with that little transmitter in my opinion.

My future Homey will have BT/WiFi/IR so that should work.
On the other hand we have no device that only have BT/WiFi interfaces.

30+80 = €110 for a nice, cheap IR solution bundle.

Harmony Hub sounds like a great all the way solution!
For me IR is very important and was one of the main reasons to order Homey.

But everyone has its own, preferences, solution and wallet.

needed some GU10 HUE white spots, but if you need 5 pieces, that's a fix investment. But now i have GU10 Innr spots attached to my hue bridge. They work just fine. I know they differ in lights with the orginal hue's but are on sale in the gamma shops in the Netherlands.

For all there, gamma now has 21 % discount, also online so the innr spots are a little bit more cheaper. Just order 20 of them to replace my traditional spots.

Paired 5 of innr gu10 spots with my hue bridge 1.0 in about 5 min. Can control them with my hue app on my phone or with the hue dimmer button

had contact with innr in the past. They had another protocol in the past but changed it last year to keep on the market. It is a dutch company by philips employees so perhaps thats why it works ;-)

Thanks for your update @kasteleman homey is not able to work without hue bridge in the start period but as far as i know it will replace the hub/ bridge so it can work.

Can anyone say something about the light quality( color of white tones) of the Innr gu10 spots? Is it comparible with the philips bulbs or does it have the more cheapish white color tones of other leds available on the market.

warm light, but can not compare to the Philips because i don't OWN the Philips gu10 spot.

Can't say anything about the innr spots, but can tell you the Osram Lightify par16 TW are great. A little more expensive, but they have a wide range of white and can be easily used with a Philips Hue system.
