Philips Hue lights unreachable

fiekfiek Member
edited August 2016 in Devices
Sometimes my Philips Hue lights are unreachable for homey, however I can control them with the Hue app. To solve this issue I have to reboot my homey. Is Homey losing connection with the Hue bridge? Is there some kind of setting that homey can reconnect when homey loses this connection?

I don't think it's the same issue. I have a gen2 Hue bridge and had no problems pairing the Hue bridge. The problem is that Homey loses the connection with the bridge. On the device page of home I see that my Hue lights are unreachable

Thnx for pointing it out. I commented on the github issue
  • I had the same problem
only when i logged in to the hue app the same issue so check if the lights are also not availible in the hue app

  • I had the same at the first time, ive reboot my bridge because my lights are not reachable over the hue app, before last week it runs, last week phillips do an update, this was maybe the Problem
  • Do you have a lot of traffic on you're local wifi network?

When i copy a lot of files from my nas to pc, my hue lights are unreachable on my homey app and also the hue app.

After i have copied the files, the hue lights are reachable again.

I think that the homey tries to connect once to the Hue bridge and if that fails there is no other attempt. Can anyone confirm this?

Powerdown your Hue bridge and test  :p

    I just did that:)
I rebooted my Homey. After Homey reboot the lights where reachable. Then I powered down the bridge, checked the device page. The lights were unreachable, then powered up the bridge. the lights stayed unreachable.

Question still stands. Is this normal behaviour or is there something wrong either with my Hue bridge or the Homey app?

How long did you wait for Homey to pick the devices back up?

And does a reboot of Homey solve the problem?

I waited for about  ten minutes. As I mentioned in my first post rebooting solves the problem, until the next time my lights are unreachable
  •  I also did update my Hue Bridge, and after the Bridge rebooted the lights still works with Homey.
However I gave all my devices a dedicated IP in my router,
  • All my Hue lights are unreachable and now a reboot of Homey or the Hue bridge doesn't solve the issue. Running Hue 2.1.0. I have to re-add them again I am afraid. Anybody having the same issue?
  • I had the same issue after the update from the hue app yesterday, i had to reboot the homey and the bridge serveral times to get the stuff working again.
  • Not rebooting (Homey or Hue bridge) but do the add new device hue + press bridge button does the trick as well.

Thnx, that did the trick, but I hope it stays that way
  • Hue v2.1.0 is still crashing
  • crashed here as well
  • Could you send a crashlog to Athom and file a github-issue:
    https://github.com/athombv/nl.philips.hue
Do you have the latest firmware? After 2.1.0 @Emile made some improvements, maybe it's solved already...

  • crashed here also. running on the latest firmware.

Seems to be a homey core bug, supposed to be fixed in 1.0.2   https://github.com/athombv/nl.philips.hue/issues/37

  • The remaining crashes of Hue will be fixed in Homey 1.0.2:
    https://github.com/athombv/nl.philips.hue/issues/37#issuecomment-262556042

  • Same problem here! Latest version 2.1.0 crashed :/
  • Fixed in experimental which is scheduled to become stable on monday :)
  • Still crashing, stable version firmware, latest hue app (2.1.1) very annoying. Only solution is to reboot Homey.

Because of some flows that didn't trigger I found out that my Hue lights are again not reachable. It's getting very annoying now. The Hue app and even the Toon app are working with the lights.

    [edit] running 1.0.3
