Can't seem to get any learned IR to work, also not with Apps. Homey Firmware Version: 1.5.3 IR.TV.LG App does work, but only when Homey is very close to the TV. The KPN (Motorola) SetTopBox Infrared Remote app should also work for het KPN Arris, bu…

I have a Homey sinds the very beginning. Because voice commands didn't work at all, I've put my homey away for almost a year. Now I have a Google Home Mini. Excellent voice recognition! And I'm trying to add my Homey for IR which is not supported by…

Dutch language gives me very poor results as well. If I'm not in an ideal position (+/- 2m in front, complete silence) Homey hardly recognises any command. http:///manager/speech-input/ is quite handy in that regard. Many commands seem te be ignore…

But that will be true for Homey. Not the apps. As far as I've seen, every App has its own language specifice parts voor default commands. It would be a good idea to make it very easy for users to add their own 'translation' for an App.

KoenMartens said: I don't know the specifics of your AV-devices, but the Yamaha app that I build this weekend (still needs approval) simply sends a xml code as HTTP-POST to an IP. If that is what you seek, I guess you could use it as a template a…

At first Homey was also not able to connect to my EPC3925 Ziggo/UPC modem/router with 2.4 GHz wifi. Retried several times. Waiting each time for many minutes. And then all of a sudden homey was able to connect. Probably a coincidence, but homey was …

Turns out that simplecontrol (and many others) are using the IR-database of www.globalcache.com. They partner with companies for the control of A/V equipment.

Great Emile. Is the app aware of the status of the TV? And can you app be extended in order to support (LG WebOS) TV-apps like Netflix? And can it be used as a template for other A/V devices?
-
Many of the IP controled A/V equipment like Sony (for sure) and LG use HTTP POST messages. Not really rocket science. However some will have a (discovery and) registration proces. And it is preferable to first get the status of the device, especiall…

Sure, but then I miss all the visual feedback of homey. Cannot use NFC tags. Possibly the quality of Homey's voice recognition will be degraded. And more important, my TV is not in the cabinet (just the ugly stuff I don't need to see: audio-, sateli…

I have my AV-receiver, satelite-receiver and kodi-on-pi inside a cabinet. So Homey's IR won't work unless I use an IR-extender, extending IR signals inside the cabinet. Btw, today I use such a IT-extender and it works far from perfect. KLICKR suppor…

That would be great. Otherwise have to script ourselves.

Other brands also have network connectivity and apps. Maybe something generic is valuable that can be tweaked for various brands without programming involved (maybe some scripting).
