Capabilities per device

Hi,
I am developing an interface between Homey and FHEM. FHEM is a home automation project that already has many drivers for many different types of home automation systems.
My idea is to write one driver in Homey that can access the FHEM server. I can already pair Homey with FHEM and import devices.
But, because FHEM knows lots of different types of devices, I need to set capabilities per device. It looks like that is not possible in Homey, capabilities are set per driver.
How can I import one device as a dimmer, and another as a theromostat with the same driver, using the correct capabilities per device?
