Voice distinction

I haven't read about this feature anywhere, so assuming it isn't going to be in the homey. Have you thought about homey distinguishing between voices to give them different authorities? For example, I can imagine situations where people give conflicting commands or people with different authority try to access your home. What if you'd have a parent-child relationship, you might not want your child to gain access to all functionality. Or if you have (un) wanted guests over that you might not want to give them access to all functionality like security, thermostat or light management, but you would still want to handle them yourself if you are present at the time. Will there be a way to deal with this or to maybe de-activate the voice commands at a given point, without having to shut down the homey?

At this point, voice recognition (as opposed to speech recognition) is not available. This is definitely on the roadmap though! It's just hard to do correctly. What if you have a cold, for example?

You can disable speech recognition through the Homey app if you don't want anyone to control it, so that's the fallback we have for now.
  • Does that mean that the phone app does have different access levels? So my phone can control lights my girlfriend's phone can't? Finally a true mancave!!

You can set-up a security PIN on the app if you'd like :)
