  • Great!

  • The disadvantage of this is that sunset/sunrise with or without an fixed offset doesn't match with the real moment of needing lights or not needing lights anymore or gurtins open/close because of the influens of the weather, when heavy rain comming up in the evening, half an our before sunset, you (your wife) wants the lights on earlyer than sunset, so afterall you probably still need a light sensor.
  • One sensor does not exclude the need for another. Also, more complex logic does not always improve the behavior. I like simple effective and predictable behavior and build slowly on that. When I started with home automation, I went all out with sensors, switches and scripting, but it didn't turn out well. There were too many scenarios I could not cover, so I ended up deleting most of it. Now I run with mostly basic functionality and I'm pretty happy with it.

Of course I want Homey to do a bit more complex stuff, but I will start with the basics, run it for a few weeks and slowly add upon what I have once every few weeks.

  • Is it possible to have Homey send a push message to my phone?
For instance, when I tell Homey to switch on the TV at 8pm and remind my through a push message on my phone?

Yes, that's going to be possible :-)

  • Damn, everything I come up with is possible.
I give up, it's just great
