Basic setup for Homey
What is the basis setup for Homey for home automation? Will it fully replace the controller / bridge / hub of other domotica suppliers (like the Smartthings hub or the Hue bridge, others) or is it more an add on to the existing controller?

Most devices that support HomeKit, also have their own API available, as they must at least work with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth.
Homey supports a much broader selection of devices, and does not require your phone for most interaction. So where Apple does (for the end user) nothing more than let Siri control some of your devices, we go way further!
Hi!
Still curious if Athom is going to implement HomeKit, after the announcements of last Monday's WWDC.
Any news on this? Because I want to upgrade all domotica stuff I have now and for the future, to have a wide scale of support for Homey, Apple and IFTTT

I'm very curious too, just found several nice gadgets you can pre-order now : https://www.elgato.com/en/eve
+1 to this topic.
@Emile I was going through the website that @daneeDeKruyff posted, and they have a BLE module with, in their words, is 'HomeKit ready'. Even though I'm a big Apple fan, I'm still not exactly sure what the necessary procedure for making a product work with HomeKit is. I agree with what you said above about Homey being much, much, MUCH more versatile, but to be fair, pressing down on the home button and saying "make Homey run the victory scene" still seems a tiny bit more appealing then unlock open Homey app find the scene click.
I guess we're mainly curious because (I'm guessing) it's also a hardware problem, not just software... meaning that if you didn't plan on 'supporting it at launch', there probably wouldn't be any hope later down the stream, right?
I think this article iphone.appleinsider.com/articles/15/07/22/homekit-market-held-back-by-apples-high-encryption-demands---report explains a few things regarding the bluetooth ble problems. But as Homey also has wifi
This should not be an issue.
@Fuzzybear thanks for that article!
