Support for AndroidTV(Google Cast)

I know that Homey supports Google Cast, but if I buy an AndroidTV can homey switch inputs, change volume, switch channels, etc?

    OK, casting is supported.

    But is switching channels, changing volume, starting a YouTube movie through the TV's Youtube app, opening netFlix, etc. possible with Homey?

    Take this tv for example;

    Its possible with a smartphone to do suchs stuff.

    That's a good one, I've recently bought a Sony with AndroidTv. I guess it should be possible at least through IR.
    I've added the TV to my Harmony Touch and I'm able to control it, but obviously only the functions that have a specific button. Starting an App would require a different way of controlling it, no idea if Homey can talk to an API for that.

    Would be awesome if Homey could directly control my TV!

    I must look at it before I can say anything useful. Maybe you guys can investigate if there's some sort of api? Then it's super easy.

    From what I have read about google cast is that it has a fully documented API which is easy to use. Since I expect android TV to gain popularity and become one of the bigger markets for smart TVs next to Samsung and Apple, support will only improve. Even if the API isn't the best, you will always have the infrared signal to control your TV.

    I know there's an API and IR could also work.
    But why rely on IR if homey can talk to AndroidTV directly?

    I saw a demo of Android Car and you could connect every Android smartphone to it. After connection the smartphone its casts apps, data, voice, etc. really awesome!
    Why should homey cast an youtube movie to the TV, if its also possible for Homey to send a command to my TV and the TV start its app and streams the Youtube content?

    It can probably work over Wi-Fi, the question is, will the protocol be documented outside of Android? Because it takes a lot of time to implement a protocol like that outside of Google's ecosystem. I've seen this with the (Chrome)Cast protocol as well.

    Maybe someone else will, and release a (nodejs) libvrary for it. Then it's a matter of a few hours.

    Been searching for a API to use Homey as a remote but did not find anything.
    I'll keep searching.
