Emile, does the API allow for a voice-recording to be passed to Homey? (Control through smart-watch)

I've got a Samsung Gear smartwatch. It is possible for me to write an app that records a voicecommand on the gear (e.g. after pressing the main button twice). Is it then possible to pass the recording through your API to Homey, to let Homey interpret the command and act upon it? It would be wonderful to trigger any scene through a command on my watch.

Yes! You POST to /api/managers/speech-input with a sentence and Homey will process as if it heard the sentence.
  • As text. I mean passing the recording itself. Is that possible?

Ah, like that! It's generally better to get your own Speech-to-text engine at for example wit.ai, and then send Homey the text.
  • Oké. I'll check that out. Thx.
  • Why would you want to pass the recorded voice instead of the string?
  • My smartwatch records voice. I'd want to pass it with as little as possible (even remote) processing to Homey. That was the original idea.
