  • @MarcoF  The industry standard is the ~940nm. The forums also suggest that Logitech uses that band too. (But who knows it happened before that Athom went with a wrong frequency) Wikipedia: "Infrared wavelength: around 870 nm and 930–950 nm. Latter …
  • The type number and brand could be important if we want to replace them as we need to find something with similar electrical characteristics to make sure that is compatible with the existing board. I think they are not using the one posted above as …
  • Logitech uses the industry standard lensed solution for the transmitter: https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/JbYsjpe1LioHbVo2.huge And also in their hub: https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/XLe1D2AnFJaMPeGs Other Hub: https://d3nevzfk7i…
  • Good find Marco. Shame on me, I use Osram products on daily basis. Good quality, but this particular IR LED is not suitable for this application (at least not like this). It has an 10° half angle on the datasheet but according to the diagram it is m…
  • Thank you Marcel. It very much appreciated. Do you get the same result with `Power button signal`? The `learned` signals never worked for me but some signal from the database worked. Is there a product or any code on the other side of the IR diode? …
  • @HansieNL Kickstarter backers did not buy a product they supported a project and in return they got a `present`. Pre-order is a normal business transaction so the product comes with 2 years warranty. However can`t raise a software related complaint …
  • Why that rude tone? Pre ordered products falls under the EU warranty regulations. If a product does not operate as advertised than that regulation can be applied. But as I said that is not a preferred avenue, we are Greeks and they are a startup.
  • I see 5 solutions here: * The one mentioned by @MarcelKuijper . Looking forwards to the results especially how that will look like Aesthetically * Raise the level PCB with 1mm spacer rings. However that will make the LED ring more `spotty`. It is …
  • HansieNL said: As I  read this conversation I get the impression that Homey's IR is not tested very well. I hope that I'm wrong. The original IR solution was to have transmitter at the top of the sphere. Which was good idea (look Logite…
  • Carrying on with the IR conversation started in 0.8.36 topic. @MarcoF You are absolutely right that some of the IR diodes are covered. In my case it is one, it seems like a design issue not a moulding defect. The far back left diode happens to be be…
  • Uhhhh. Please guys. * IR bounces from floor, walls, ceiling anything couple of times. No matter how many transmitters you have. So the receivers gets signals with a slight delay. No matter what. * IR signals travels with the speed of light so the in…

  • Are you using the 0.8.35 firmware?

  • Would be a great improvement if developers could get enough access to implement their own solution, whether on-line or offline. That would be a big improvement, less stress and legal pressure on Athom. It would be in line with the original concept: …
  • It is not an error. The firmware update has changed it. TBH the generic alarm is a bit pointless. They have also revised how the battery status is displayed on the device card. I guess because the charge changes are quite insignificant they have dec…
  • Agree with you however they won`t implement an offline speech to text engine due to the poor recognition quality. https://forum.athom.com/discussion/378/the-night-alexa-lost-het-mind It has been mentioned elsewhere as well...
  • When you press the test button that ignores the trigger.
  • It would only send you an email when the battery level would actually change. Like from 97% to 96% (which in most cases rarely happens as the battery should last long, most HA product uses Lithium batteries). Otherwise your flow is not triggered.
  • I remember that they have planned to do some `app kickstarter` where we can invest money in an app idea and if a target is reached than developer would write the code. I would invest in a VoIP and DLNA/UPnP app.
  • LightwaveRF is designed for the UK market. We use different sockets here and different wall boxes so there is no point selling these outside of UK and Ireland. The point is that the inner hardware is almost identical to the KaKu. So if someone is de…
in 433 Mhz range Comment by ZperX May 2016
  • I don`t think it is the 433Mhz range itself it must be the app or device. I have LightwaveRF devices what is similar to KaKu and it has an incredible range. Homey and the app controls devices 2 floors above with 100% reliability. The Somfy using a s…

  • This firmware works for me, haven`t broke anything. Has small improvements and the flow management which is really nice feature. @Gerjan The Wikipedia app has never worked for me.

  • Yes I can also confirm that since 0.8.34 firmware the 5th generation sensor works. I have the 0.8.35 now and no issue apart of the terribly bad range. There is still some data loss but it is not that significant now. And if I change the motion senso…
  • As a workaround a Reboot flow card would be useful. The Somfy app has been updated last night and it works with 0.8.34.

  • I am following this forum since July 2014. And I am not impatient but have a HA system and family who allows me to play around but they prefer to have a working system. You are bit quick to judge people you don't know. I have started this topic in t…
