  • JBenjamins said: Hi Jaap,  Thank you for your extensive and very useful how-to! Considering implementing something similar now. How would you judge the looks of the (rather bulky) rail on your ceiling? Have you mounted more than one rail?  Th…
  • quakerix said: Hey guys, I tried the speech recognition and I don't get a single flow working. If i look at my input page it is not showing anything i just said. Rarely something appears there, if it does. Its not what i have said.  R…
  • First impression is very good. Music app looks great and works well. Unfortunately, I do not have the chromecast as an output source for Homey music yet, even after re-pairing the chromecast and rebooting my Homey.  I did noticed Homey can now adju…
  • What did you expect? If Spotify would work Spot-less, it would be Ify?
  • Personally, I think the build in speaker is not very good for voices. Voices output sounds a whole lot better via a normal speaker. The problem with having the line-out plugged in is that you don't hear anything if the sound system is turned off. On…
  • I used two step authentication and generated a custom password for Homey (which worked). Edit: I have a google music unlimited account. Do you guys have a paid or free account?
  • Hans_Breda said: Zeer veel dank voor alle reacties! Ik ga eens kijken welke oplossing ik verkies. Weet iemand waar ik wat meer info vind over variabelen? Zodra ik een werkend gebakkie heb gemaakt, zal ik het hier natuurlijk delen. Ik kan…
  • TedTolboom said: @JaapPelt you are able to reach / control the wall plug from Homey?  Did you pair the wall plug recently and in proximity of the door sensor or close to Homey? I re-paired the wall plug, door sensor and RGBW device last w…
  • I guess it's time to put on my thinkerers caps and start some experiments this weekend I have an Ikea RGB controller and a regular dimmer laying around which I will both try, hopefully without blowing up the RGBW thingy. Since the input accepts 12…
  • mauriceb said: @JaapPelt I use a simple push button for turning on/off with a single push. Double push for full brightness and hold to set the brightness. I believe triple click enables the default effect, I am not sure have to try it. …

  • OGS said: I tested the RGBW today and noticed the following: - trigger card does not seem to work, no reaction in the Then - there are no tags related (in flow editor tags) to the analoge inputs so it very difficult to monitor if anything is c…
  • I recall that Athom is working on adding some additional voice command. I'd doubt German will be in the next release. Perhaps this is something which could be sped up by crowd sourcing the translation to community members. My German is not great, …
  • I have a similar problem, but now with the z-wave network map, I can see it is connected via a sub optimal route. Also, be aware that stuff such as walls, electricity lines and water lines can significantly reduce the signal strength.
  • I had a similar problem a while back (not sure if it is the same). For me, it helped to place Homey closer to the switch when adding it.  Also, when a pairing fails, I often remove the device from Homey AND reset it to factory defaults. It should be…
  • I have been using primarily Kaku sensors for the past few years, but the range of Homey is indeed not sufficient for all casts. I'm happy with my Fibaro upgrades as the mesh network allows for good coverage and each sensor is packed with features. …
  • It's always good to start with Kaku and upgrade to Fibaro when you want the extra reliability. I have both and both work pretty good.
  • I have tried this myself as well, but I quickly came to the conclusion that I didn't want my Soundsystem to be on all the time. I had a small portable speaker laying around which I used to improve the volume and sound of homey. It works great. To a…
  • dpvl said: I bought the MCO panels with 4 switches on them only to find out that Homey does not support them ( Are there any plans to build an app for them? http://www.mcohome.com/ I'm not an expert, but I thought Homey supported "gener…
  • Floodnl said: I do agree with the OP there are no easy ways to find out how things work.  i am working on a "guide"  about how my first weeks of homey went and what things are good to know or how they work.  I have learned most of it by the peo…

  • I use a chrome cast despite the fact that my Samsung tv supports cast pretty good. Never regretted having a chromecast for a second, so go for it!
  • Nello is shipping this month. It should support a lot of intercoms and Homey (although I haven't heared anything about the promised Homey integration).  If you are interested in Nello, remind me to give an update in a week or two in case I forget to…
  • An alternative to using a variable would be to use two flows to build in a small delay. Trigger-Flow: IF motion detected THEN trigger Delayed-Flow after 1 minute. Delayed-Flow: IF triggered AND motion is detected THEN do stuff. This only works is …
  • Some of the newer cards have tool tips and it is really nice. More please!
  • I have configured something similar. In the evening, Homey starts the thunderbirds theme song, starts flashing the hue lamps and then closes the roller shutters. (I'm still having loads of fun each night) An easy way to configure these kind of "…

  • The Fibaro rollershutter switch "knows" if it is up or down if you have your physical switch connected to it. Just place it in the AND column to check what the current state it.  I'm note sure if it will work for you though.
  • keverjeroen said: Well, I'm a bit supprised myself, but it looks like it's working! When nobody is home, the scoring is really low (0 / 1) and when one or more people are at home, the scoring is high (5 / 6). But it needs some fine tuning. In …
  • YvesGeffens said: Well, would a second controller help in extending the range of z-wave, in a more stable way than (eg) a wall plug can do it? Maybe there can be some benefits, or is it just 'stupid' to buy one (when you have an Homey) ? Or sho…
