I have a similar problem, but now with the z-wave network map, I can see it is connected via a sub optimal route. Also, be aware that stuff such as walls, electricity lines and water lines can significantly reduce the signal strength.

The Fibaro rollershutter switch "knows" if it is up or down if you have your physical switch connected to it. Just place it in the AND column to check what the current state it. I'm note sure if it will work for you though.
