Is that in order of priority? (because I'm kind of sad that music support is that far down the list... )

I don't think there is an option right now to turn off the built-in flows (hopefully that will be added at some point). The only option we have at this time, is to come up with different ways to phrase the commands...
-
That sounds as if there's 2 conflicting flows for lights... is it possible that there is a built-in command for lights that conflicts with the commands/flows you're using?

Another myth is, that development of Homey would go faster, or that the firmware would quickly become more stable, if it were open source. More people editing the code, will have a high risk of adding more bugs, and it would require a significant am…

Thanks for the informative update, Emile. I agree with Danee, that it would be nice if we were informed of such situations in advance of it happening, though. So maybe for the future, you could at least mention those few situations in the release n…

They know. See what I said earlier in this thread...

Several of the web services that Homey currently uses for speech-to-text conversion, actually perform better if you send it a sentence (context) than if you send single words. So with the current speech services, sending words one at a time could ea…

Yeah, right now, Zwave, Bluetooth and IR definitely have priority... because there, a lot just isn't working at all. With voice recognition, at least there are workarounds (such as manually activating the flow on the speech-input page, or using the …

People don't have to say the EXACT sentence, as long as you set up your flows in a flexible way. For example: my flow for turning the TV on, is: If [You said anything] AND [text contains "turn on"] AND [text contains "TV"] THEN [start Activity "TV"]…
-
A piece of advice I received, and that has been working very well... try larger sentences. They are usually recognized better. I used to use "TV on" as well, but then I created a flow that is triggered on "Turn on the TV", and 8 times out of 10, Hom…

Thanks Emile, that was a good read. Things seem to be going fairly well, behind the screens. Looking forward to the .39 next week...
-
My guess is that they will only promote 0.8.38 to stable *after* they have fixes available for all the apps that were broken in this update... not sure how many of those they still have to go, though.
-
to be honest, I consider a firmware update this week to be highly unlikely. According to the software status update that was posted on Monday, the Z-wave fixes are still about a month away, they're just starting to "look into Infrared", and this wee…

Webster is right, you can just order it from the Athom store. If you accept a Beta status of the software (ie. not the full retail experience), then it should be shipped fairly soon (see also the 'shipping status' thread), as the hardware is already…

Thanks for the update!

No software status update (summary) from the past week? That's a bit disappointing...
-
Yeah, a 'report SPAM' button at the top of each post, that immediately sends an alert to the Athom people (with the link to that post), would be very useful...
-
Sorry, Emile does not want us to supply the procedure for reverting your Homey to its original status - they should be the one to tell you if you should use that procedure, and what the procedure is. So you will have to wait for a reply from support…

Although I appreciate the effort... I wonder... wouldn't it be possible (and better) to update the existing LG WebOS app to include support for WebOS 1 devices? That way we can avoid multiple apps for the same set of devices (in this case, LG TVs)

Yeah, and Athom are well aware of this. As mentioned in the Software Status thread: The microphone performance is still an ongoing track we're working hard on. At least in the smartphone apps it works great already!

To be honest, Athom developing their own solution for voice recognition... I don't see that happening. It's a complicated field and requires a lot of expertise (and time, and money). Some dedicated voice recognition companies have already spent many…

Not surprising in the least, but looks like Apple joins the fray as well... http://tweakers.net/nieuws/111673/gerucht-apple-werkt-aan-concurrent-voor-google-home-en-amazon-echo.html

The problem is, that the entire speech recognition engine (ie. the conversion from spoken word to text command) is done by external sites. Being able to recognize some basic voice commands while offline, would mean that the speech recognition engine…

I'll reboot Homey when I get home tonight. So I won't be able to test if it solves the problem, until I'm back in the office tomorrow...

Tried it in firefox... same problem. I get the impression that it may be a caching issue on Athom's server...

Yeah, I logged out of my.athom.com, cleared my entire browser cache, rebooted my PC, and logged back in. Still the same problem...
