Hmm... so it's very important for my wife that she not knock it over when she's cleaning (dusting). This makes it worth considering to put Homey in an out-of-reach location...

Controlling your gaming console through Homey? Possible, sure, I'm fairly certain someone could make an app for that, but I doubt it would be practical. "Hey Homey, go left" would be way too slow in gaming. Even controlling the game console throug…

blusser said: Somebody mentioned Benext heating control : Speakes z-wave and is able to override your thermostat (if compatible). IFAIK this way you can implement zones and rules/event/triggers with homey and your Danfoss valves. Investm…

I'm not the most tech savvy, so I don't think I am the right person to explain the need for a thermostat in your system (though, shouldn't there always be a central component that can control the boiler?), but with regard to multiple zones and under…

Another option could be the EnOcean concept (https://www.enocean.com/en/smart-home-and-home-automation/). They're not the cheapest, but their components are very energy efficient (self powered, no batteries or electrical wiring needed)... so it may …

So the fake Paulus actually DID 'stumble upon' the home assistant site... well, at least now he has learned the difference between that piece of software, and Homey.
-
I think what he was trying to achieve, is just some free promotion for his project... at least he succeeded in that. But presenting it as if it offers the same functionality as Homey... that's just plain wrong. The best he can hope for, is a compar…

+1 I don't mind waiting a few more weeks before production starts (until the test results from the first batchers are in), if that means receiving a better quality/more reliable product.

TimVanSteenbergen said: So now appearently now it is no longer 4 weeks to go counting from 1 september but 5 weeks to go from now! The estimated time to first delivery is actually INcreasing instead of DEcreasing. That's crap. Please keep…

Emile said: 2 weeks delay since the last planning So simply put: the last planning expected to be able to ship the first batch of Homeys 3 weeks from now, now the expectation is 5 weeks?

Imko said: I am reading "6 tiny U shaped holes" so i guess there are 6 IR led's that point in 6 directions. Yeah, that would make sense... I really hope those 6 holes provide a full 360 degrees coverage.

JeroenVollenbrock said: You can compare it to making 6 tiny U shaped holes of about 1mm just below the joint of the lower casing with the led ring. The ledring itself has a slightly increased diameter, which covers up the largest area of these ho…

My bad, didn't check that at all. Incorrect assumption

They wouldn't have to GIVE them away... those homeys are fully functional, apparently just with a limited IR range. They could sell them at a significant discount, then dev backers who want one, could purchase those. And the money would help Athom …

I agree with honey, there are too many similarities to just be a happy coincidence. Though any reference to athom is seriously lacking on his home page (http://carmelarad.com/homey.html). Might be a good idea to contact him...

Apparently Innr "uses the Ayla platform, including the Agile Mobile Application Platform (AMAP)". See for example this page: https://www.aylanetworks.com/platform/platform-components . They do mention APIs, but I haven't found a lot of details yet...

Thanks for the update, Emile. Now we can all relax again and wait patiently for next week's update (which will hopefully say that the first batch has been shipped) @Moek we're all anxious for our Homeys, so yes, I do get it. I just hope that ou…

Moek said: @kriebelkous I'm most definitely not expecting that at all. I always wait a couple of days before asking about some more info. This thing is blowing out of proportion because I wrote "this thread " instead of "the last question in this…

From that same page: Update 2 oktober 2015: De meet-up is inmiddels uitverkocht. In other words... they're already full.

That was an awesome read... thanks for sharing. I wonder, though... how much of the functionality of Homey will be left in a case like this?
-
Well, look at it from the bright side... by the time the Homey finally does arrive, the software will be in a lot more advanced state ;-)
-
Exactly what department are you in contact with, Emile? Maybe if several of us (potential) customers contacted them, we could convince them that having the Homey "universal remote control system" support their product, would add incredible value to…

I was also looking at thermostats with zone support. That's why I was asking about the Heatmiser Neostat. I've also found the Vaillant multiMATIC 700, which looks quite good, but that system seems to require that you also have one of the supported …

Not so sure about that... a while back Emile said "We don't have plans to increase the price." I don't know until how long after the product is finished this will hold true, but my guess is that they will at least try to stick to the current price u…

Are there any plans for Homey to support the Heatmiser NeoStat ? I read that its API is available to developers. Also, does anyone here have experience with that system? I'm in the process of deciding which smart thermostat to buy, and this one …
