Controlling lights

Hello, I am a Lighting designer and led specialist. We make lightdesigns for home`s and we work with Hue ( Philips ) and Lightify ( Osram ) CanHomey control these and how will it work with KNX modules ?

    Homey works with Hue and hopefully Lightify in the near future. KNX is on our to-do list for after the launch of Homey!

    Yes, you can change the color of Homey's LED ring!

    Sorry, I'll mean like Philips Hue's system. Controlled by Philips TV directly ? To be and do the same color change like philips lamp in function of image displayed? Of course only if you have Philips TV to give data. Or maybe we'll developpe an plugin to do that ;)

    Do you mean the Philips Ambilight, which are the LEDs which are built into the TV and change with the image on the TV?

    Philips TV (or an app) send color data to Hue lamp to improve Ambylight experience.
    The goal is to use Homey LED ring like Hue lamp to make the same thing.
    I don't search if they are open Philips's API to play with Hue lamp ?

    Ah, like that. I don't think that's an open standard. Maybe you could contact Philips for us if they would support such a thing?

    About Hue;
    Is the Hue controller still needed or can Homey "native" control the lights with its own zigbee "interface"

    In the beginning, the bridge is required. We're planning to control them directly in the future!

    And eliminate the bridge entirely? Or more like the LivingColors remotes that are still 'connected' (use the same key) to the bridge but can talk directly to the Hues?

    The main reason for me to buy Homey are the different protocols/interfaces so bridges/etc>>trashcan.

    Saves power, less failure point in the system, etc.

    So it will be a great feature when Homey can control them directly :D

    My new build house will have multiple led-spots for which the most efficient way of connecting is a central driver, and Ethernet cabling (CAT5) which is powering/addressing the Led Spots using protocols like Dali/DMX or KNX.
    KNX seems most open, as Zipabox also has a connector to covert Z-wave actions into a digital address for KNX so the correct Led Spot will be switches on or dimmed. My in-room fixed switches are Fibaro/Z-wave based, so the controller (Homey) would be essential to covert this to KNX.

    @Emile, you state to support KNX later. Will this work around April 2016, as I otherwise have to work on alternatives? Any other advise is welcome.

    I think this would require Homey to register itself on the Hue bridge as a 3th part led light or led string. That should be possible and is already being done by a lot of other brands.

    No, and don't expect that to be implemented in short term, more like several months. It's low on the priority list
