Transform existing switch to Z-Wave switch

I have several LIFX lights which can be controlled by voice. However, my girlfriend still prefers to use the switches. But when she uses the switches she basically cuts off the power to the LIFX lights and I also first need to use the switch to be able to control them by voice again. So does somebody have a good and cheap idea to transform the switch to a Z-Wave switch (preferably one which does not need batteries)? I was thinking to directly connect the LIFX lights to the power and use the actual switch in the wall just as a Z-Wave switch to start a flow in Homey.

I found this device: Eminent EM6514. Does somebody have experience with this? I prefer to not change the current look of my switches since they are all the same in my house (Busch Jaeger)

  • This is kind of related: https://forum.athom.com/discussion/4374/wandschakelaar-aanpassen-via-homey
    Might find your answer there.

Basically the idea is to put some kind of domotica switch behind the wall switch (doesn't matter if it's zwave or something else, take your pick) and connect the domotica swtich only to a live wire (so not to the light itself) and the wall switch. Then make a flow to turn on/off the LIFX bulb when switching the domotica switch on/off.
  • I had the same issue, I used a KAKU AWMT-300 which has two channels
and just connected the brown & black wires.
Homey allows you to hook KAKU to Lifx & Hue
