  • This looks promising. Not at home this week so I can't play around with it but will it stream to Bluetooth speakers as well once this is added to Homey?
  • For us not installing via CLI, will it be available to test in the official appstore?

    Thanks
  • @Phuturist is Homey Music supports BT, then the radiostations will work too...
@zsfh I submitted to the appstore as beta but can take some days to get approved...

Excellent. I was just yesterday baffled by lack of radio streaming apps for Homey (that actually work and don't require sonos or other devices). So your contribution is HIGHLY appreciated :)
  • Great idea!! Can't wait to try when in the app-store.
  • Published in the appstore now, have fun with it ;) and I hope someone is able to fix the UPNP-issues in Sonos (and maybe other UPNP players).

  • Thanks, installed now. Too bad it cant play the streams in its own internal speaker :( Will this feature be possible in future?

Athom disabled that. I bought a small BT-speaker with line-in and connected that through a wire while waiting for BT-audio support (planned for FW 1.6). Sorry, can't re-open a bug that is closed by Athom. But feel free to add comments to that bug, if there's enough people asking I'm sure Athom will reconsider...

Ah gotcha. Think I have one of those jawbone bt speakers somewhere that could server the need in mean time

    Thanks bvdbos
  • But

But how do I get the sound from the jack?

  • :) Ah thanks
  • @bvdbos
Nice app, do you know if the audio jack from homey is a stero type ?? or just mono.
    thx
  • Stereo I presume, people are also using it to connect to their stereosets...
  • It is connected internally as stereo, the jack itself is also stereo

The only thing that could be is homey mixing it down to mono, but don't think that is the case
  • Thanks for the nice app.
How can i open a stream through a flow??
  • You can only open the first stream for now (radio is a playlist). Created a GH Issue (https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues/1909) and Athom is working on it...

It would be great if there would be an action card that asks you what station you want to play and based on your answer starts the right station.
  • +1 on phuturist his idea :D If homey doesn't recognize station names well...maybe even implement it as numbers. "Homey, play radio station one" etc.

@bvdbos ; Great app, thanks, but I found some challenges:

Via the Audio-Jack, I can play the Radio stations, but when I choose one of my Sonos speakers, the chosen sound is not directed to that speaker, when that speaker was already playing some music, the music is not replaced by the "new radio station" sound. Using the "stop" / "Play" icons, the sound of the chosen Sonos speaker is stopping and starting again, but the source is not changing.

A second problem is that the station name does not update in the "Music" tab, after changing it in the "Settings/Radio" tab.

How can i make a flow for opening a Radio stream?
I don't have the radio in my devices.
  • You can only drag the tag to a chromecast (for now). For Homey Music it's not possible yet, will be next on my list...

OK, Thanks for the quick reply!
  • Updated to 1.1: searching in flowcard is now supported which means you can start a radio-station through Homey media in an action:

Searching on the Music-UI is also possible but subsequently playing still is an issue, looking into this.

    @bvdbos Nice one!
However, I've meant to ask you about the picture with the old radio. Although this is an old Australian radio (see all the AUS states beside the selector  ;) ) I hear no Australian streams!! Why? When? Getting a bit sad here...
  • It's a Philips :)
You can add all mp3-streams you want to the app, I'm happy to add working streams to the readme. just post them here or on Github... Thinking about adding packages of streams to the app directly...
