868 MHz

Hi
Will the Homey talk with all 868 MHz products??

Comments

  • in short: never...

At least not with all products, just as Homey doesn't work with all 433 products or all http-products etc etc. But specific devices do already work... Which ones are you looking for?

    I'm trying :-)

In Denmark we have a system called IHC. It is a light control system that communicates via wired and wireless pushbuttons. The wireless components use 868 MHz. I would like to use them for Homey, is that an option ??

  • First you need an App for it to support the devices,
someone should make that first.  If that is possible depends on the exact signal frequency, and modulation.
also the range can be different due to slightly different frequencies.
Homey used ASK modulation most of the time but can switch to sending FSK and listening to FSK for stort period after that.
So it depends on several thins if it will work.

If someone in the community has the knowledge and the devices he can try to make an app.
If used a lot in dk, maybe Athom wil do it once they resources (time, the right person and the devices.).

But if you have the IHC Controller with Ethernet maybe someone with that knowledge will make an app to let Homey talk to that IHC controller.

Could take quite some time before something is working.
