z-wave plus

Will it be with the new z-wave plus standard ?

  • Will Z-Wave Plus products work with classic Z-Wave products?
    Yes, Z-Wave Plus products are fully backward compatible with classic Z-Wave products.

    So it should work!
  • That is NOT the question. The question is if the controller have the new 500 plus chip inside to fully support the new standard because if you use plus together with old 300 or 400 devives. You Will NOT benefet from the improved range and other benefits from the new standard. In other Words you need to have a whole system with new 500 plus devices to benefit the new cool features. If you ADD just one old device with new 500 all new 500 Will "downgrade" to this old standard.
  • I read his message as;
    Will new plus devices work with Homey.

    And the answer is;
    All plus device are backwords compatible and would work in non plus networks.

    ok, so all the devices need to be Plus+ and if 1 device in the network is a non plus device, then the whole network will operate in non plus mode?

    My current z-wave network/controller contains 135 (virtual) devices controlled by an Vera3.
    I tried to add an plus device and it didn't work ok.
    When i place the plus device close to the controller then it worked "ok".
    But when i place device "in my network" (read; behind routing devices) it stopped working.
    So it looks like the Vera3 itself could work with Plus devices, but the routing devices in my network are messing things up. The plus devices could not get a failed route, switching took several attempts, power monitoring didn't work, etc.

    So based on the standards it should(!) work, but the realword(!) told something else...
