    I have been playing around with my flics today. Sweet little buttons they are which are really helpfull in situations where the speech interface isnt going to cut it (which currently is all the time ;-) ).

    I now use them together with Tasker to do stuff with Homey but it would be awesome if a Homey app for flic.io will be created once bluetooth LE becomes available. The app should make it possible to pair the buttons as devices and have them set as triggers to do stuff in a flow and in this way cut out the phone as necessity.

    I've got 4 flicks now. Want to use them to trigger flow on Homey when Bluetooth comes availible.

    Why do you use tasker?

    You can do Flic -> mobile app (http request) -> homey http trigger

    Removing requirement for mobile app would be great, but looking into flic linux bridge it requires hci access which is not possible directly from Homey.

    As I use BetterLogic and the HTTP app with the bearer token header for security and the flic app does not allow you to set extra headers with it's http request functionality.

    It's a shame that it does not seem possible to cut out the phone though. Then there is no use in waiting for the Bluetooth functionality of Homey anyway.

    I see that a library for nodejs comes with the Linux Flic library which was recently updated by Shortcut Labs. Would this open up the possibilities for direct connection from Homey to flic.io buttons?

    I haven't tested it yet, but I would say no. I guess you can't run flicd directly on Homey, so you need separate device (rpi for example, similar as better presence app).

    Since there i a sale on the flic web-site for blackfriday im interested in these things.

    Anyone got the flic working with IFTTT ? Maybe use an iPad in-house as a gateway to the homey ?

    Nice! Would be very welcome to use flics without phone. Of course is it works with IFTTT and http requests but the trick is to use it without phone. I wish I could help. Willing to learn but where to start? Is there something like programming Homey for Dummies?

    I was a backer of their kickstarter, started to use them (and my kids), however a lot of issue's with them, need to keep the app open, re-connecting (automatic) mostly does not work (on iOS) I ordered 7 and 4 of them never used, so I think they will end up in the trashcan :(  but still keep my hopes up on using them with Homey.

    Homey could would should have a direct connection. Maybee @Annemarie could ask RobinB or who at the moment is at it has made any progress. Last i got whas there they where in talks with flic to support them..

    Any info would be great. aslo because bluetooth at the moment is no asset at all to homey. Just the cheap crappy playbulbs that i would advise everbody not to buy.

    A direct BLE connection? That's a poor range... Or does BLE create a BT-mesh? Was looking at the api but that's just for phone-apps where the flic app is installed... LOL : flic.io

    @basvandenbosch no not a direct BLE there was talk about integrating the flicd process in homey

    I'm using it atm with nvidia shield and sideloaded flic App with the Homey HTTP App. Working pretty ok, only the bt range from the shield is terrible.

    Flic is going to build a Hub that Homey could be. Too bad the don't focus on connecting to Homey first. However the put in a survey and ask wit witch device we want to connect the most. So please fill in the Survey and ask for Athom's Homey!

    Yes, but we want to stop being dependent of needing a phone/tablet with the Flic app within Bluetooth range of the Flic. And IFTTT is not always fast.

    I have ordered 4 Flic's. I'll have a look at what @mruiter built and try to integrate it with Homey.

    Why isnt this integration working yet with Homey. Shortcut Labs is gonna beat Athom in time with a completely new product ... :disappointed:

    Apparently, it was a big HIT!  Ihad to order it as well .. since Athom promised IR and Bluetooth support and "never" delivered, maybe the guys from flic will keep the promise Athom made ...

    This has to do with the current Bluetooth module in homey not being able to listen to "announcements" from Flic.
    It should be possible by polling already, but thats not the way you want this to work.

    It's just waiting until Athom finishes their Bluetooth part, @m-ruiter got it working with Noble already. After that i played with it on Homey, got to the pairing part (and that worked) but couldn't listen to the button presses.

    Extra: Current roadmap looks like 1.6.0 would give the needed notifications for flic (not sure if this changed already, but thats the latest intel i got)

    For the die-hards: Just undust your flics every week and take them out of the box, don't forget to smell them...because they still smell awesome <span>:open_mouth:</span>
