Probably just a motion sensor, right? ;-)
mmmm .... i hoped for more advance way like if there are 2 or 3 Bluetooth devices and through the strength of the signal of each of them we can track where the ( person , tag ,animal ) is .
That's want I'd love to have.
This would be awesome but, on the other end of the line, very difficult to realise. Else all domotica servers would have that function. There are several ways to do it but users want something that is spot on, when you are standing in a door, in which room are you? Most of the users want a very clear line between arewas but that's just not possible.
So I imagine it would be very nice, I like it myself also very much but I think you have to temper your expectations on this one.
you can calibrate the rooms in your house when you setup the system or when this functionality been added to homey
Exact indoor location is very expensive to realize.
Would require at least 3 expensive WiFi access points and a controller.
Besides, Bluetooth enabled and connected will draw your battery and won't reach top throughout your whole house.
Agreed.
And this will only get the location of your device not the person. So when iyour device is in the charger the system will not work. This problem can be solved using wifi badges. But those are accurate to 3-5 meters. The best system imo would be to place sensors above\in every door (frame) that simply counts the times the door had been uses and sensors in every room to verify that the door was opened and someone walked in..
You might want to google "Ekahau" ans see how far this tech really is develloped.
Maybe it will cost a little bit more but it will give you more flexibility. .... like if your 2 years child approach the swimming pool it will give you an alarm ... but if your other children approaches it the controller will not give the alarm

We use various techniques to detect who's home. Extra devices (for example NetAtmo Welcome) or motion sensors can improve upon this.
And of course, when we roll out voice detection..
I come across this pozyx.io
cool spyshow, but you stil need to take something with you to be recognized.
Yes and it is big
