Configuration interface and other questions

OGSOGS Member

Hi,

I am looking into Domotica and for some testing i have some Fibaro units and a Razberry. The Homey is looking a lot easier to setup (I am not a programmer).
I have the following questions:

  • The setup interface is it completely in the Homey or is it using a webportal to do the setting (if the internet connection is down is only the speech option down or can you not configure at all)?
  • I want to do some things in a PLC or other industial components is it possible to communicate over free protocol using a serial port (converter on the usb interface) or UDP?
  • how far is the integration/working with the Thermosmart?
  • is it possible to communicate with the opentherm gateway and show/use these values in the Homey?
  • Are there already any pictures/movies about the app for IOS?

What I have seen here on the forum it is looking really good!

    Hi,
Is it possible to use the IFTTT to write parameters to the devices to set for example the default dimming level to 20% for the next time the switch is triggered between 20:00 and 7:00 and to 100% between 7:00 and 20:00?

Hi, even if I don't get any response on my questions, I still like the idea of the Homey.
One of the important things I really need to know is the combination of Homey with the Thermosmart and the opentherm gateway?
How far are both supported from the start?

    Olaf

  • Everyone (willing to) can make a driver so as far the carrier/protocol is supported Homey will support it.

Hi I know that is possible. In some earlier discusion the Thermosmart was mentioned and I want to know what the status is about this?

  • EmileEmile Administrator, Athom

    We're supporting Thermosmart :)

Thank you and how about the opentherm gateway?

    Do you have a link?

  • OGSOGS Member

    here is the link
    http://tclcode.com/opentherm/download.html
With this device you can read out your heating system

No, Homey does not have a serial interface ;)

There is also an ethernet version

In an earlier question I asked about writing parameters in fibaro unit using the IFTTT.
I want to set parameter 40 (dimming level without input from switch) between some times.
    Is this possible to do?

  • OGSOGS Member

Yes Taco confirmed it is possible to set parameters but can it also be done from the IFTTT interface?
I need to set some parameters depending on special occasions.

  • Ah, yes, I simply ASSUMED you can control Homey from e.g. REST calls from outside. If that's possible you should be able to control Homey from e.g. the Wordpress channel in IFTTT, (if there is no more recent/better channel to directly control by means of generic HTTP calls within IFTTT).

@Emile should be able to confirm if/that Homey is to be controlled for the state of virtual devices (and thus scenario's) from outside by HTTP calls.?

  • EmileEmile Administrator, Athom

    Yes you can :)

  • Nice! All that non-sleeping is time well spend I see. ;-)

An arduino should be able to read out opentherm and send it to homey. http://palebluedot.nl/jml/projects/arduino/24-openthermmon

If you combine the above OpenTherm Arduino project with a nRF24L01p 2.4GHz wireless transceiver (http://www.elecfreaks.com/wiki/index.php?title=2.4G_Wireless_nRF24L01p) it would be very simple to read the OpenTherm and report to Homey.

There is even a OpenTherm gateway which is able to read and write values on the OpenThem bus:
    http://otgw.tclcode.com/
Attach a Arduino to it to control it and which reports back to Homey

  • For Dutch people who really want to bit-it-out, see this link. I've got a Remeha Calenta which I'm able to read out with a Arduino :D just by polling bytes. If you want more information about this, send me a mail.

thank you all for responding, I placed my order today.

    @PeterGroeneweg,
I've send you a mail. Can you please respond?
  • BTW: OpenTherm Gateway App is available: https://apps.athom.com/app/com.tclcode.otgw
  • @MRL, just did it, your message was putted down in my flooding mailbox :$
