Unable to add an iKettle

MoekMoek Member
Did anyone succeed in adding an iKettle?
I just get a message saying "no new devices found, you may close this window"

Are you able to control it with the app? (Is it already paired with your local wifi network?)

Quick reply on a saturday btw!

Okay, and Homey and iKettle are on the same subnet? (so both have IP 192.168.A.B, where A should be the same on both devices) We have an iKettle at the office, and to be honest, it is really a pain in the ass sometimes to connect with.
  • Same here. Get the same message.
i can control the kettle with the app.
and is on the same subnet as homey.

    Can we add it manually?
  • MoekMoek Member
Same subnet as well over here.

Hmpf strange, we did some thorough testing at the office before updating it last week. Do your iKettle's seem to be on a subnet not equal to 1? (so at 192.168.100.x for example)
  • 10.0.1.XX is mine

  • MoekMoek Member
    Mine is on 192.168.2.xx
  • RobinRobin Member
Okay, that might have something to do with it. I will look at it asap and let you guys know!

    Thx @Robin  Happy easter!

Found it, nasty little bug where the iKettle app starts to search by default on 192.168.1.x, of course, on your networks there is no iKettle to be found there. This one slipped our testing process, as the iKettle at the office happens to be 192.168.1.x

Sorry guys, fix will be released in the app store asap!

Are you gonna develop a Smarter coffee machine app aswel?
  • MoekMoek Member
    Thx @Robin !
And +1 for smarter coffee ;)

The Smarter Coffee machine is not on the roadmap as of yet, I did found this (partially unfinished) library, so perhaps a community member could already start with it!

How can I put it on the road map?
Do I need to come to the office and put it on it myself.
  • White with two sugars please
  • Hello Robebar,
i already have the smarter coffee maker,
and it is all true what he said.
But there is a new app update. That carafe check can be disabled. And you can make coffe in a cup.

If if you know a other coffee maker with wifi please let me know.

But for now it works great.
  • MoekMoek Member
I'm content as well with it.
The app/firmware update fixed the hotplate not working and as long as you remember to first remove the carafe before opening and closing the filter-lid it produces a nice cup a joe without any hassles.
Very pleased with it, but mind you I have no comparison because it's my first grinder. ;)

Robin is the application for the v1 or v2 kettle ?
because the app picture shows the newer version but I think that one doesnt work....
  • V1 but on the photo in the App Store you see v2.
    Mini is now working.

@Robin I'm now drinking my first cup of coffee brewed by Homey.

    i'm very happy with it!
Can you make a water level alert?
so I can make a flow to check the water level.
  • RobinRobin Member
Haha, that is quick! Still improving the app at the moment, checking water level will be a feature that I'll look at later, first getting the basics to work reliable (brewing, keeping warm etc).
  • jovinkjovink Member
Yes i was waiting for this app.
i have made a flow, as I wake up I press my doorbell and homey turns on the lights downstairs and makes coffee. If it's ready homey tells me, and hold it warm for 5 minutes.

Am I the only one who has trouble with the smarter coffee app?

I have installed the app again, didn't working
I have reset my coffee machine, no result
reset the wifi of my coffee machine again no result.

Als i have tried a other Homey but still no result.
The official smarter app on iOS has no problems.

The app find my coffee machine without any problems.
(I use the app from gitHup)

Did you install the latest version from github? Has been under construction lately, and is not "officially" released so it might contain bugs.
  • jovinkjovink Member
I see you have posted a new one. I used the version before. I'll try this one. I'll let you know.
  • jovinkjovink Member
    Yes now it works again.

But the version that i used before did work until a couple off days back.
But i'm glad it works again.
    Thank you @robin ;

There's a app update! It is now possible to add the smarter coffee.

@Robin The picture that you use for the kettle is the new version. The app supports only the old one.
Maybe you can change the picture.

Do you have any idea when the flowcards will be added?
