To any of the Geeks: Can Homey output to Chromecast Audio?

edited March 2016 in Archive
To any of the geeks who own a Chromecast Audio:
- How about the 'Audio' edition of Chromecast (http://www.google.com/intl/nl_nl/chromecast/speakers/)?
- Will Homey be able to output his audio to it?
- Does the current Chromecast app (https://apps.athom.com./app/com.google.chromecast) work with Chromecast Audio?

    Cool, @Emile. Any ETA ?
  • Cool..  Is it also possible to use multiple chromecast devices? I have 3 (a chromecast 1 , a chromecast 2 and a chromecast audio)

In homey you can add all devices seperatly and in flows you can then apply actions on a specific device.

This shouldnt be different for the chromecast

  • Homey app currently uses DefaultMediaReceiver which should also support ChromeCast 2. Haven't test it though. Not sure about audio version.
Maybe someone with v2/audio could test chromecast+youtube apps for video/audio playback?

That would be great. Curious if anyone cast test this!

Did a quick test and the app finds the Cast2 and audio and plays sound / stream
