Physical button remote

Hello all.

At night when it's dark and you want to quickly pause your blu-ray or what have you I'd prefer a rubber button remote control that doesn't talk to my blu-ray but to my homey which then works out what I'm watching and pauses it.

My issue is it'd be a little bit of a pain to dig my phone out, unlock it, get the homey app up, or to even say hey homey pause (if I'm pausing to read some text every now and then).

Anyone know of a remote that could talk to homey that's pref not IR but something more long range?

Thanks, James.

  • Your talking about a Harmony remote from Logitech.
As the latest ones are using an internet hub and can be controlled this way Homey might be able to talk to the Harmony hub.

You could make one yourself with an Arduino :-)
  • I'm not talking about a logitech remote, no.

Basically just a generic (pref GHz rather than IR remote).

Of course you're right in saying I could make one, but I'm not sure I could make it not look shit.

    Thanks, James.
  • Klik-Aan-Klik-Uit remotes could to the job and they are cheap.
