Accuracy of the Homey app "You're home right now" feature

I'm getting a notification when I'm home/when the Homey app (I think) detects when I'm home. Sometimes I don't get anything, sometimes I get the notification multiple times in an hour.

Is there anything to tweak to the accuracy?

In my current setup, with Homeseer, I use Tasker which detects when I'm connected to my wifi network. If so it will send an HTTP post to Homeseer and a virtual device gets the value that I'm home. After some tweaking it now is pretty accurate. When my phone disconnects from wifi Tasker check for about 5 minutes if this state is maintained, when it is another HTTP post is sent and if all virtual devices are "off" (so nobody is home) some events will run to turn off lights and devices and on certain days ask my Roomba to go cleaning etc. I never come home in the dark anymore. :)

Currently it only uses a geofence with a predefined radius, so no, there is no possibility to tweak this (yet).

I haven't personally used Tasker before, but if Tasker can send a HTTP POST message, you could ofcourse disable the built-in home detection of the Homey Android app, and use the Tasker app to post your current status to the endpoint /api/manager/presence on your Homey. I think there is some documentation about this on developers.athom.com, but if not, please PM me either here or on Slack (I'm @rlubbers on Slack) and I'll help set it up.

In the future controls for home detection will improve; wifi network detection is ofcourse low hanging fruit, and iBeacon support is something we want to add as well.
