Connect and Disconnect to a specific WiFi network trigger flow cards

@Athom or @Anybody else who is able to create a app for this ;)

Is it possible to create trigger flow cards when a Homey user connects or disconnects to a specific WiFi network? We could use this trigger to change a variable which we could then use to trigger multiple other flows. I think this is a very good alternative for the presence flow cards which are currently not working as they should.

For example:
When Jesper Janssen connects to WiFi "thuis24G" change variable "Jesper" to "Home".

  • I have a few thoughts about this:
     - Same question as here
     - You can use life360 with IFTTT to trigger flows in homey
     - You can use tasker on your (android) phone to do a http request to the latest versions of the Better Logic app or HTTP app to change variables or trigger flows
     - I'm working on a GPS Tracker / Geofence app, but it's under construction now
  • Good stuff Erik, possibilities I didn't even think about yet.
  • Good idea, but technically it's complicated because of Homey app's limitations.
We already discussed this here https://forum.athom.com/discussion/831/status-of-ip-device-as-input
  • Thanks for the other suggestions Erik. I just had a look at life360 in combination with IFTTT but with this it is not possible to have a separate trigger for when my girlfriend is home because you can only use one IFTTT account in combination with Homey. In the IFTTT settings in Homey you can only setup one maker channel in Homey. However, the when first family member arrives home trigger in IFTTT for life360 is also a nice option.

I'm now looking into the tasker app to let it send a http request to Homey whenever my phone or my girlfriend phone connects to our WiFi (need tasker on both phones for that). But I don't know how to set this up in tasker. Do you have some example or other info which I could use.

I hope the presence will be better controlled directly by Homey in the future.
