Scheduler App

For further automation of stuff in my house I need advanced scheduling capabilities (I do not have motion sensors everywhere). As I pretty much know the default time schema of my family I can schedule quite a lot based on day/time schedules.

The default implementation of the date/time cards can result in a whole lot of cards and flows to set things up the way I want it. I'd like to see some scheduler app where you can define schedules which you can then just add to a flow in the AND column with one card where you can select a certain schedule i. This card can be reused in other flows and only needs to be managed from the settings of the app in case something changes in the default time schema.

For instance, in even weeks I want the radio on between 09:00 and 18:00 on wednesdays and in uneven weeks I want it to be on on fridays between 10:00 and 17:00 and in all weeks I want it to be on on weekend days.

It would be great to have some sort of scheduler where you could create time schemas with multiple recurring events like this and then attach a time schema to a flow triggering the flow everytime the schema becomes valid.

  • I have read somewhere that there will be a agenda for homey.
    But it is not on the public time line.
    I hope it comes very soon.

    There is a way to start flows, using variables. So you/someone could make an Scheduler App that sets certain variables, based on which the required flow will start.   That variable can also be used when starting the flow by other inputs e.g. a remote control.

    Right now, that's the way I (try to) use some flows: some lights are turned on at specific times, but can also be turned off by using a remote. The variable contains the state (on/off).

    I too use variables (now with the built-in logic app will switch to the BetterLogic app soon if a certain bug is fixed in the next version) but that still only allows simple scheduled flows which result in a lot of flows if you want complex time schema's. Together with a scheduler app this will be awesome and will reduce the number of flows for complex time schemas.
  • @jovink and @keverjeroen the app I'm suggesting is something different then a calendar or agenda that can be used for reminders. That is actually just released as app here:

    I'm really looking for something to make complex time schemas.
  • I understand what you mean. But I still think a calendar-app could do that. But the app should do more than voice. It should be possible to us calendar-items as triggers in homey. That's what I try to say in https://forum.athom.com/discussion/comment/8041/#Comment_8041

    Example: if shedule-name = 'garden_lights' and shedule-starttime = now -> turn garden lights on.

    That way you can make really complex shemes.. like possible in Domoticz: https://www.domoticz.com/wiki/Interacting_with_Google_Calendar

    Or maybe in the settings menu the we could set up a local schedule like this:

    OK, I see what you mean. My bad for not reading the Domoticz wiki before making an assumption. Sorry for that. It does seem that this would give extensive scheduling possibilities. It does however also feel like a very hacky and unreliable solution (as the Domoticz wiki admits). I'd rather see an app for it in a similar fashion like honey posted above where you can create time schemas.
  • I think the iCalendar to Voice App might be able to handle this in the future. I already have a working trigger card based on an iCalendar event. If I'd add the iCalendar name (read: schedule name) as a token, you should be able to create some interesting flows! :)
