Request: Support for Philips Hue groups, like VeraEdge and Hue apps support [0.8.17]

I've got many Philips Hue's in a testing setup, and they are also grouped in about 10-20 groups. When connecting to Philips Hue's in Homey you can add individual lights, but VeraEdge also supports adding the defined groups.

The groups make it 10x easier to produce flows, and prevent "forgetting" individual lights and makes using VeraEdge to change a group of e.g. 20 lights in the livingroom, or 15 in the garden a breeze.

Doing the same thing in multiple flows for Homey is dramatic at best. Time-consuming, error-prone, etc.. Also expensive in time needed to get it right and to manage it.

My request is to support the Philips Hue groups inm Homey, that (other) multiple apps do support, that the Philips API's do support, that VeraEdge supports. Thx in advance for reading and considering this request.

Correct. Those are different features. That's why I asked seperately. Scenes are of no interest to me at the moment, but it's nice that it's asked, cause they seem to be popular also. Your link is broken.
  • Bump + due to missing feature requested in this discussion, I've added 14+ lights for my living room, but now encounter showstopper bug in Homey where scrollbar cannot reach all devices......  Too bad, nothing else to do than waiting for bugfix, or creating 4 seperate flows dividing all Hue's in multiple flows.........wish so much for groups to be supported, also fixes nightmare to get 10+ or 20+ lights to do exact same color....  For now, wait for fix for: https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues/383
  • I've started Homey again, to check where the software is at. I want to add my ~20 Hue's in my garden and ~50 Hue's in my Domotica demohouse in flows. I started to add a flow for sunset switching on lights, setting color and brightness. For my garden I'll need to add 60 cards to a flow. This is SOOO much work. Is there any alternative yet to perform this task, for example Better-Hue-App somewhere which only needs one card per light, reducing a LOT of work, or maybe using groups/rooms in Homey? I'm really how you all make this more convenient. I've used the search, but found no alternatives so far, but there are a LOT of posts, so maybe I'm not finding what is there. Thanks for helping!

With Homey you can use the groups you have made in your bridge,
here an axample where all lights in group livingroom goes on

or another setting you made in hue

  • Thank you, very helpful. Will experiment with all that!
