Zigbee, ZWave, is any of these mesh networks syncing?

Hi guys,

I once read, somewhere on the net, there was a network protocol for home automation that was not a fire-and-forget like 433Mhz, but also checked if a signal was received. But I can't find anything about this anymore. Does Zigbee or Zwave does this?

Very short answer. Yes both have 2 way comunication

Let's say a device (zwave or zigbee) sends out a signal, but it doesn't get an "acknoledge" back. Will they keep sending the same signal again and again? I am just interested in this technic.
