Male voice through Google Home

Hi I have the strange thing that Homey answers through the Google Home device with a male voice.
Google home talks with a female voice, the google assistent on my phone also and the homey alone talks also with a female voice.

But when i ask: Ok google ask homey the humidity in the shower, i get the right answer but with a male voice? (through the google home speaker)

Does someone recognize this problem?
Kind regards
Herman

  • It's up to the developers (Athom in this case) to choose the voice.
They can't, however, use the default Google Assistent voice.

The change in voice lets you know you are no longer talking to the Assistant, but are talking to another entity (Athom's Action). This is a rough parallel to a GUI that makes it clear you're running a user program and not one of the system programs. It also cues you that the usual system commands (adjusting volume, for example) won't work.

  • That's not making sense, if I talk direct to homey I get the female voice I installed why would that change? I don't have a male voice installed.
