Notifying Homey (Pushbullet, Prowl, NotifyMyAndroid, etc.)

Hiya!

I'm using Prowl on my iPhone to get notifications from software running on my NAS. For when things have finished processing or downloading. These applications also notify Kodi and tell it to update the library.

Now I would like Homey to light up twice or say the message in the notification I received on my phone. What would be the best way of achieving this?
Should there be a "Prowl" app for Homey for example? Or is it best practice to let Homey get notified straight from the applications I'm running (if possible and would need to be implemented of course). Or maybe another workaround?

Any help is appreciated, cheers!

Is the Homey app capable of receiving push messages? Then one could argue this isn't immediately necessary for the owner who can login to the app.

Currently I use NotifyMyAndroid and I am quite pleased with it. For "life important" announcements such as fire or burglar alarm I use an SMS service (since they also work when I don't have, its called Clickatell)

Indeed, but for Homey to be able to get those push notifications wouldn't the applications running on my NAS have to implement support for Homey? I read a CouchPotato app is in development already. Which you could (presumably) tell do download something. But I'm not certain as to how it would handle sending notifications to the Homey itself, if at all.
  • Pushbullet, which I use almost daily, has an open api:
Maybe I'll start on it when I get my homey. Have lots of ideas though, so have to decide on what to start with...

I could have a look as well, if I can find the time... Might have a look at alternatives to Prowl in the meantime.
