Wireless jamming

Just saw this article: http://arstechnica.com/security/2016/01/comcast-security-flaw-could-help-burglars-break-into-homes-undetected/

This was to be expected, burglars always find new tech to get their job done.
Is there anything Homey has (or can get) against this?  Like a detection mechanism when all of a sudden all sensors/modules stop reporting?

  • this is not a problem IF u have a certified security system like satel or honeywell galaxy, jamm's and communication loses are always detected and reported by the system, stuff from Gamma / praxis wireless "security systems" for the hobby bob that will be unreliable, but it allready was without hackers.

for z-wave and other protocols i guess u can poll ur devices if they still respond, write a script for it, tho ur battery sensors will be empty in no time.

    my 2 cents
  • As far as I know, you can't poll battery powered devices, so you don't have to worry about draining the batteries with polling.

What about devices powered by mains? Is there a way to detect they are being jammed?

Not too sure if I'm saying this right, but @taco just made polling possible.... I guess all it would then take is for Athom to implement some sort of a warning if something wasn't responding. Then again, if wifi was jammed, then even Homey couldn't report back........
