  • Interesting product!
But Xiaomi doesn't seem to be related to yeelight, they are launching a smartphone feature for use with a Philips EyeCare desk lamp (not hue AFAIK)
  • For my understanding they are but split up under a different brand name, i think  it have to do with marketing.
Last year they where sold as xiaomi yeelights.

I own 2 lamps and there very good quality

But most important they do have an API :-)

It seems they're already moving away from Zigbee, so I don't think it's likely they'll become a Hue partner.
If you go to the yeelight website there's only reference of a WiFi-bulb. After a bit of searching I found the page for the Zigbee-bulbs, which seems to be on an old website. The two products mentioned on that website are the Sunflower (Zigbee) and the Blue (BLE). On the Blue-page there a Q&A with the following question:
Q:What's the difference from the 1st generations? The 1st generation uses Zigbee, there should be a box works as bridge; The blue edition uses bluetooth, so it's simple.
Of course this is not an issue to make them work with Homey, because Homey can do it all! ;-)
