Mimic/copy KAKU/COCO remote codes

Hiya,

Been looking through the forum to find an answer but I either cannot search very well or it hasn't been discussed. Anyway, I didn't find an answer to my question: Is Homey able to copy/mimic KAKU/COCO (or any other RF) remote codes, like you can with IR? I have a couple of KAKU Sunscreen remotes hidden away which I won't be able to reach easily. So I won't be able to learn them press the LEARN button on these. Also it can be useful if you are using all available codes already and don't have one available to use exclusively for Homey. Looking forward to saying 'Hey Homey, open the screens" :)

  • How do you now activate the sunscreen remotes then?

  • Hey FrankM,

Most devices (including KaKu/CoCo) that work with an 433MHz signal can be paired by copying an already paired remote, this way you will only need your remote to pair your device with Homey.

  • Obviously I had them paired to a HW remote before hiding them.. :)

  • Even though the app store already has an app for CoCo/KaKu plugs, I've wondered the same thing, you can find my question and a good reply here. So I'm sure that your blinds can also be taught the same way. I wanted to reference a video of Homey learning code, but I can't find it anywhere..

  • That is exactly what I would expect Homey to be able to do. Since I couldn't find any answer I thought I'd ask. I was only wondering about this when I was linking a power outlet switch to a remote. This switch goes into 'learn' mode for 15secs when you plug it in. Since my sunscreen switches need a button press to go into learn mode I realized I may have a problem linking them to something other than my remote...

So much for my forum searching skills... :)

  • You can also "learn" homey the signal through your HW remote cant you?

  • @Floris I have not tried that yet but it should indeed be possible.
