Ikea rotating dimmers

I'm having very little luck with my rotating dimmers.
At first they lost connection when Homey was rebooted (and before that they only worked within few feet of the Homey)- now they just don't do anything at all.

I re-paired a dimmer, created a flow where the dim-level tag was pulled to a bulb - and nothing happens. Nada... When connecting directly to a bulb, everything is working fine (except the bulb loses connection to homey)

So, a few questions.
1) Can the dimmers talk to repaters (bulbs) or do the need to talk to Homey directly? (the zigbee map tells me they have connections to repeaters, but they don't do anything when rotated)
2) Has anyone gotten any nice results when using these dimmers?

I have 4 bulbs and a rotating dimmer connected via homey. So no pairing between bulbs and dimmer ! The bulbs show as "router" , my homey as "coordinator" and the dimmer as ""Enddevice".
The flow is working so-so. The bulbs don't really respond directly and fluently compared with direct connection.
