Ring video doorbell

Hi Guys,

I have the Homey with the RING video doorbell, but it isn't functioning properly. I can't add the device. See below:

I've restarted Homey already. In combination with the RING app everything is working fine.

  • Ring as a company has a thing against others using there ring unless paying lots of money for it.
So other domoticas like Homey and Domoticz for example all use the api because its hacked and known.

Ring has changed its API 3 weeks ago so that the known API commands cant be used by "the others"

We need to wait for the latest changes in the api to get sniffed again and hacked so the app can be updated to support the now used API again.
Until that day, Ring doesnt work on Homey

Ok this leaves one option, abandon all ring products... Switch to a different and more user friendly product.
  • I'm not a Ring user but I did notice they have ifttt support. Did you look into using Ring in combination with the Webhook channel in ifttt? The Webhook channel usually has a very brief delay which you will need with a doorbell :)

  • Fairly old thread I realise but I just got a Ring doorbell.

Wondering if anyone has found a way to record the video locally or on an always on Android device? Seems like it should be possible with screen recorder or something at the very least?
