Homey extremely sluggish

Overnight, without installing extra App's or a f/w update - my Homey has become extremely sluggish. Loading the web interface takes up to 5 minutes. I did PTP,  as at one point it didn't respond at all. That didn't improve much.

Only thing I noticed was that 2 Apps were updated and that the Harmony App had crashed (it restarts with Candy App every hour).

What is causing this? Are others experiencing similar issues?

Did have the same after 21 days,  no gui load .

Ptp and all good!   Will restart every 10 days now.
  • Yes, it seems it needed a longer PTP....
    It is back to normal...

I will back a note to do a cold reboot every 2 weeks.

    Thanks @djesko

Hopefully will there be a fix on the hang ,  we need more then 21 days uptime.

Well, easy fix is installing candy-app and reboot at night once a week or something like that... node.js does still have some leaks by its own so 21 days isn't that bad.

    I'm using candy now,  thanks
  • Homey needs Candy ;-)
  • @Eternity you are talking about Harmony that keeps crashing, what if you disable it, that could be the troubled app that is making your homey slow (memory leak)....better test then restart it every hour with candy

    All seems fine again, thanks!

I did a long power shut down (10 minutes) and that was the way to get Homey snappy again. A short PTP didn't do the trick.

I do hope that the Harmony App gets a re-write / update. It 'works' with Candy App, but that seems a terrible workaround. I keep the Harmony App 'awake' by sending it a dummy command every 15 minutes and restart the Harmony App every 2 hours.
  • @Eternity The Harmony app is developed by a community developer, i thought i did read somewhere he stopped the development. When i take a look at the github i see the last change is 6 months + -> https://github.com/netactivenl/com.logitech.harmony.hub

Yes, and that is a pity...

    Again, this if O.T. !

I do think that plenty Homey users also have a Harmony remote... In my case it was my first go at creating scenes to achieve things in my house. As Harmony hub also supports other stuff (like Philips Hue) it is capable of more than just TV/Audio control.

Also, being able to use a old school remote to trigger scenes is very friendly for other home members. Especially if they are not into domotica / smartphones and other gadgets.
