Line-out needs better tuning!

Today I did some try-outs with Homey's voice over line-out and I was shocked because of the bad sound quality!
Almost no high frequencies and far to many low frequencies. It sounds a bit like I'm listening to a nice sound set while my ears are under water...
I tested with JBL Pulse 2, but also in a acoustic tuned area on my KRK VXT8 studio speakers.... This is NOT how it should be.
I get the impression that the sound is still tuned for use with Homey's mini-speaker... that would seem okay, because small speakers need some extra low frequencies and the highs might need some filtering.
But when I use line-out there should be NO filtering at all. I have an old equalizer in storage, so I think I'll try to put that in the chain next week, but I'm afraid that too many high frequencies are filtered from the line-out to get an acceptable sounding voice...
