Something went wrong when resuming the music

Great to see that Spotify ultimately made it to Homey!
I'm trying to get this to work and coming close but yet no cigar...

I've created the following flow;

It seems to work, receiver turns on, input is switched to my chromecast-audio, etc. But then Homey says "something went wrong when resuming the music".

I can see all my songs and playlists in the music tab, have choosen my chromecast there also.
Anyone ideas or suggestions?

  • If you read the app information it's clearly stated it works only with sonos thats why you get the error. Spotify is limiting the use for Athom so the problems is not Athom but Spotify If you use the search function on this forum you can find more information about it
  • Well Lubbert, thanks for your support. But the string just didn't came up when searching. And then there is this in the newsletter of Athom I received yesterday;

    "Homey connects all things, so it also connects all your music platforms to all your speakers. This means you can play music from services such as Spotify, Google Play Music en Soundcloud on playback devices such as Chromecast, Sonos, Heos and the AUX line-out."

    So I do understand it's Spotify who limits this now, but it is what Athom communicates. I am over two years on board in this project now and it was one of the primary promises when I backed the project. And still and yet this dissapoints me then.

    And as stated elsewhere, we can play and cast allmost from every devices, so why not homey..

    I agree, in that it's communicated wrong but when you look at the app description it's clearly stated (before they renamed it) that it only works with Sonos.

    It's Spotify who isn't giving access to the API of making use of it. On slack ideas like going with pitchforks to the HQ of Spotify to force them giving access almost became real <span>:wink:</span>

    There are "ways" to go around this (simple search on git) but that's not what Athom can do as a company (or can accept in the store). Just like the problems with the Alexa skill, first in the USA only because how they did it was not allowed in the GB store. Think the most possible reason for now is that Athom is too small, spotify want's too much money for it or they are protecting there own business model because Athom is combining all kinds of services into one playlist.

    Some other topics with the search music here (opened 4 minutes before you xD) , here  and also in the 1.2 experimental topic
