Raspberry Pi + Aeotec USB Z-Wave dongle + Domoticz

Hi

I have this:
Raspberry Pi + Aeotec USB Z-Wave dongle + Domoticz (up and running).

I still want Homey to be the main controller, but wanted to connect this little setup with Homey (just to see what's possible).
Can I make the Pi, join the existing network that I created with Homey?
Will I see the status of all the Z-wave devices connected to Homey?

eg. My Pi has a PiFace Digital, and I want to use the relay's on that module.

Where do I start ?

  • Oh boy, don't go there...tried for HOURS (real hours)...never got it to work in a nice way.
  • In short, does not work
    workaround?
    keep the two separated and use the http link to update the data in homey, or create a custom script for syncing the data between domoticz and homey

  • okay, that's clear :-)
    @swttt
    care for two-line manual for the http link?

    Most important is Homey -> Pi, because, depending on an action in Homey, I want to set the relay in the Pi.

    Or a pointer to where I can find some information on how to do that ?

    Thanks !

  • HTTP get JSON
    http://<Domoticz-ip:port>/json.htm {"type":"command","param":"switchlight","idx":123,"switchcmd":"On"}
  • Or create a domoticz app ;)

    I suggested that long ago, but nobody picked it up. I wished I could build such an app myself ;)

    Me too

  • What I don't understand:
    In Homey, there is an option to include Homey in another Z-wave network, right? Why isn't that possible the other way around ?

    Second:
    Suppose I would make my Pi the main Z-wave controller, would it be possible to include Homey as a secondary controller? If so, will I be able to control the z-wave devices in Homey as if they where added to Homey straight away ?

    Or I'm understanding the concept of a secondary controller wrongly ?
