Homey & Amazon (dot) integration in the works?

Maybe they will announce it officially tomorrow. Probably Amazon has released the skill in the store today without Athom knowing that it was. I will do some more testing later on when there is nobody else in the room. At the moment i feel kinda silly speaking to Homey via my Echo dot and nothing happens!

haha I rather have some pointers, for now itś working as well as homey's speech (e.g. not at all)

Please be aware that the Alexa skill hasn't been officially announced yet and is in internal testing.

By skipping 'ask Homey', we have to use the Alexa smart home api, which is very, very limited. Because Homey features our own advanced natural-language-processing software, it's a better solution to use that instead.

Their own advanced language?!? Homey listening sucks (or am i misunderstanding)

The speach thing was what me triggered to pre-order Homey a while ago. Unfortunatly the "Alexa" thing seems not to be the big improvement i expected. 

And yes, i do know it is in test fase and not officialy announced but i wonder why the results are not better. Perhaps it's my Dutch, eastern accent (met de ooo, de aaa en de eee)

The recognition of Alexa itself is so much better, for example with the harmony skill  turning on/off tv, switch source (apple tv/dreambox/kodi) and switch channels works like a charm... 

For now i'll stick to Domoticz with zwave/rfxcom/http and Alexa via HA-bridge on rpi.

So, some more testing and fixing is necessary, hopefully resulting in a usefull official release!

Very weird, i asked Alexa 6 times "Alexa ask homey start cleaning" and all 6 times Roomba started. The last few times i did not need to pronounce it very wel, it just seems to work.

Also i get the "Homey didn't respond" message, even if it was successful.

But he, this is by far the best result for me. Let's do some more testing...

they knew of it but only announced it in dev preview so we could do some tests before Athom would tell about it. Working very good here, response between 2-6/8 seconds, depends on standard/custom flow

They have a problem that it's only in the US store because of a library they use that's not been made available to UK/DE (yet) by Amazon. They opened a ticket and are waiting for a solution or workaround, then it will also become available in UK / DE and hopefully NL soon
