Stem herkenning zeer slecht

Beste iedereen ,

Ik, Alex , nieuw lid en nieuwe eigenaar van de langverwachte homey heb nogal wat problemen met de spraak herkenning, 40% werkt , de rest van de tijd niet of nauwelijks....Zijn er verbetering toe te passen of andere oplossingen?

Mvg Alex

Welcome Alex :) Although most Homey-owners are still Dutch, there's also a lot of people here who don't speak Dutch so the proffered language is English.
Regarding voice, the experiences vary a lot, for a lot of people it works great (or well enough, like in 80-90%) while for some it doesn't... You can find some experiences using the searchbox or click this link:
    https://forum.athom.com/search?q=voice+recognition

You can see what Homey heard at
    http://[homey-ip]/manager/speech-input
    or create a parrot-flow like

    Also there's the better voice-app of @jeroenbos22 : https://apps.athom.com/app/homey.better.voice

You can try placing Homey on another spot in your room, try turning Homey or for example speak slower or with a lower tone. And voice will get better (though some people on the forum have lost their faith in that...).
  • Thnx for your quick reply.
I will switch to English :)

I already placed the homey on several spots , some made it better other worse.

The voice recognition option was the trigger to buy the homey .

What is wrong , why is it so hard to make it 90% working ?

    Regards Alex
  • Also, it's usually better to use "keywords" instead of sentences like this:

It will now respond on many more sentences and mistakes. For me voice recognition is quite good, but you have to face Homey when you speak to it and make sure there is not too much background noise. Personally I mute the TV and radio when it detects "Ok Homey".
  • @alexM also what can help (workarround) use your phone for speaking to homey with the android or eiphone app. There is also an option in the app so you can tap screen instead of saying OK Homey (especially made for people who don't think homey is OK 'grapje')
  • Lets not start this again.
please go to https://forum.athom.com/discussion/2542/accuracy-voice-recognition-is-unacceptable#latest and start blaming Athom there :):

  • Even if homey does recognise my keyword, I already use short triggers like : lights on , light off , coffee on etc...It doesn't do the job , even if the light gives the idea it does ...
  • https://www.athom.com/en/support/KB000037/ and https://www.athom.com/nl/support/KB000037/
Lights on is a build-in trigger for Homey, you shouldn't make a flow for that.

  • @BasVanDenBosch I wish they didn't I have curtains that work with IR I made a flow open curtains and now homey is telling me "ik kon geen gordijnen vinden om aan te sturen" but my flow is working and my curtains are opened.

So my question is how can I disable the stupid comment from homey
  • LOL, I don't know... Better file an issue for this on Github : https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues

There are several threads on this forum about this already, but I'll repeat it here:
Try to speak full sentences, instead of just short triggers. That, in combination with the flows that Dieter described, should improve recognition (as then the speech to text translator will have a context for the words you have spoken). So for example, say "turn on the lights" instead of "lights on"  (while still scanning for the keywords "lights" and "on").
Then again, this may be a bad example... see what Bas said about the built-in lights trigger.
other example: I used to say "TV on" to Homey, and had a recognition rate of 20-30%. Now I say "turn on the TV" and have a recognition rate of around 90%.

[Edit] but yeah, it's better to continue in the other thread on voice recognition...

Just like @Bumblez says; keep you to the strict voice rules and you eventually will hit the 90%.
