Developing an installed app

Before I go and 'ef' up all my Fibaro device pairings and maybe even Homey itself.
Is it possible to develop on an installed app without losing settings.

So in other words, can I run from the com.fibaro folder:
athom project --run
and CTRL-C out of it, whilst already having it installed.

If not, how should I go about it?

  • All at your own risk (don't blame me :)) but that should work. Do not uninstall the original app before you do the --run because that will most likely make you lose all devices.
If you run it from commandline it should run like it were an update on the original app; all settings should still be there. Just remember to install the original app (or your adapted version) once you're done.
  • Ok, sounds great. Will try it after dinner. Want to see if the latest zwave-driver addition getOnWake will fix some of my never stopping motion alarms.
  • Oh and don't forget if you want to go back, install the modified app with --install toen go to the app store from within the Homey app and install the original app from the app store
