Cheap sensors with mysensors.org

It struck me that the prices for simple sensors (Fibaro, Aeon labs etc.) are quite high (+/- € 50,- each). I am wondering whether there are people who are interested to start a project producing cheap and reliable out of the box sensors/actuators based on MySensors.org / something else. Of course commercial companies must make money but I have the feeling the profits are extraordinary high.

  • Already using mysensors icm with Homey. Love it! What do you mean when you say project? Designing pcb's and/or housing for the sensors?

Yes, that's what I mean. On a commercial base but cheap. I never designed PCB's / housings so actually I am looking for partners with experience in this field.

I have two esp8266 which support several protocols (inc domoticz), they are also very easy to use. I am currently experimenting with the http app but a dedicated app with driver for these devices is also possible ofcourse...

Edit: I forgot about mqtt which is also supports, also a solution though it requires a middle-server..
