Smart swith; Fibaro vs D-Link vs Devolo vs TP-Link vs WeMo ?
I want to buy a few smart 230V switches for switching on and off a lamp or espresso machine for instance. Of course it should be possible to control it with Homey (and Android, just in case...)
There are a few possibilities, has anybody studied the possiblities, advantages and disadvantages of the different brands available? Which brand is the best and why?
I'm looking at for instance:
D-Link (wifi)
Devolo (Z-wave)
Fibaro (Z-wave), most expensive but very small
max 2500W, so oké for the Espresso machine
Home Wizard
Somfy RTS, this one is the cheapest
TP-Link Smart Plug (wifi)
WeMo from Belkin (wifi), this works with Nest
What are the differences, I know Z-wave consumes less power as wifi systems. But further, what would be the best system to start using?

Z-wave is specifically designed with home automation in mind and is low power (for battery powered devices) and secure.
Z-Wave is a bidirectional radio system. This means that a signal is not just sent but also a feedback confirming the reception of the signal occurs automatically.
Only drawback is that it's slightly more expensive.
Home Wizard uses CoCo/KaKu and is fire and forget. If the message isn't delivered you'll have to fire it again, manually.
RTS is, like CoCo/Kaku (see previous remark).
Something which works with Nest isn't important as Homey will do the communication with Nest for you.
P.s.
All of this is my personal opinion, which isn't the same for everyone off course.
Then you have the most options to make flows like:
If time is later then 20.00 en the power output was higher then 200 watt turn off outlet after 60 minutes.
So if you drink coffee arround 20.30 your timer starts and turns your coffe machine off @ 21.30.
