Homey Presence in coordination with car navigation (VW)

is it possible to connect homey to the website of VW sat-nav?
in other words, should it be possible to get the presence from a car and use that within Homey?

  • Or with Volvo?

In that retrospection, in any car navigation system that has the track ability..
  • Theoretically, yes. If VW or Volvo sat-navs have a website which shows you the position of the car, Homey can 'listen' to that website and get the necessary information.

In reality, it will be more complex and based on potential API settings and security of the VW and Volvo websites. I have no idea how those are set up for companies like that, but I am afraid it's very closed off, which would result in Homey only being able to detect it if Athom has some collaboration with VW/Volvo.

    For Vw it is possible.
Would be nice, as i drive a VW myself with carnet functions.
And the GPS tracking from the app works perfectly.

According to an issue raised by someone, this is US only.
  • Er is er nog een die niet om een user vraagt.
Is voor pebble, ik zal hem eens testen als ik hem kan vinden.

Its working with BMW tho, using IFTTT. Just checked but they only seem to support Tesla and BMW out of the box. You might be able to add such functionality trough Automatic or Dash. (Both OBD devices)
