They just send me a private message on a comment i made if the API will be open and why Homey wasn't in the list.

They said: Coooool ... we never have seen a Homey yet. But it looks like the king of devices in its range. I now want one for myself and will go and order it straight away. Lets hope they send it out even if it's still in beta.
The API will be open , also IFTTT is supported but why go use it if it can be a direct connection.
Please send me a message when bluetooth support is enabled so we can look into that also. Wifi should be easy so i will tell my develp to look in to it right away so we can put Homey on the list.

Thats awesome, it would be great if they could develop a Homey app in the future. The device is looking great.

$200 (inclusing sending) for a weather staion... I like the potential, but i think its pretty expensive
  • Its cheaper then Netatmo :) There you need to buy the Wind, rain and thermo for higher prices.
Does not do lighing, UV-index and you almost Always get the in house therm in every package.
Almost al my z-wave sensors have the temp sensor. So i don't need that (when zwave is going to work :) )

Most stations where you want he complete package you have to pay more or the same.

  • Or you could all grab a Bloomsky!
  • bvdbosbvdbos Member
bloomsky doesn't do wind-speed. does it?
    http://shop.bloomsky.com/products-list/solar-powered-weather-station
also, normal price is 199 for Bloomsky without the solar panel...

  • I'm in the UK and have a Bloomsky, it's awesome (with a great API) and it exists. I'm very wary of crowdfunding these days (been stung to the tune of 2k just the last 12 months).

  • Just received an update (by pm) about weatherflow which I backed months ago.
For all Homey-owners with interests in weatherdevices I copied the text. It sounds promising for combining with Homey (and other devices too), I presume.

    New Campaign Update!

    Hello JG,

The ‘WeatherFlow Smart Weather Stations’ team just posted:

    1 new Announcement:

Dear WeatherFlow Backers, We hope you are enjoying this holiday season, spending time with family and loved ones. Here’s a short update as we look forward into the new year.

AIR & SKY:  Technical development and testing is going well and we’re still on track for delivery in March to Field Testers and May to all other other backers.

Regarding the hub:  Many of you have asked questions related to the hub mentioned in our last update. To be clear, the hub will be included at no additional cost. The hub is a small device about half the size of a soda can which sits inside your house plugged into any outlet. The hub communicates directly with the AIR and SKY and future devices via sub-1GHz radio (915 or 868 MHz depending on where you live), providing dramatically increased range and lower power consumption. The hub can connect directly to your phone or tablet via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) so you can receive data continuously when in range with no Internet required. The hub connects via WiFi to your home network in order to publish data to our secure weather servers. This allows you to view your data from anywhere -- online or via mobile app. This connection, along with our cloud-based API (REST and WebSocket) enables interaction with third-party data services like Wunderground and Weather Display as well as smart home platforms including IFTTT, Samsung Smartthings, Amazon Alexa, Nest and more. Direct, secure local data access between the hub and third-party devices will be available both via BLE and WiFi.

CES:  Following this year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) January 5-8? WeatherFlow will be on showcase in the IndieGogo booth as a VIP campaigner. Also, David St. John our CIO will be speaking on a smart home tech panel. Stop by and say hi if you’re there!

Thanks again for your support, your feedback, and your patience. Enjoy the Holidays!          - the WeatherFlow Team
