Knocki

Hi guys,

Just found a cool project on kickstarter that I think will work perfectly together with Homey: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/knocki/knocki-make-any-surface-smart

Imagine firing flows by tapping your desk, the wall or a table :).

What do you guys think?

  • Maybe a Fibaro motion sensor could also be used for something similar as this detects vibrations/seismic movement.
  • There was another link on the forum about this and I backed them. Sounds cool!
Fibaro motion sensor cannot detect 10 different knockings me guess?

It's a fun idea and I like it. However to truly make the most of this, you'll need one under the diner table, both night stands, coffee table and perhaps some other places. It quickly adds up in cost as the anticipated retail price will be around $130. I believe FLIC is a better solution in this regard. Although only a few actions per FLIC button are possible (3 I believe) that is enough for those common tasks I think, and a lot more price efficient at $25/pc..
  • But FLIC is a fysic button u have to touch aye?
I like the idea of knocking on the table and the radio goes on if u like.

Yup, you are right about that. My statement is purely cost driven. I think it's to expensive.
