Local network device detection

Is it possible to locate device status in local network area. I still don't have a solid way to locate the status of my samsung smart tv d8000.

  • Which OS does that tv run?

I rather don't use another device. Why using a raspberry when you have a Homey. Or is that a restriction.

Homey indeed has restrictions, you aren't allowed to make ping requests for example.

I'm aware of the Ping restriction. But i don't understand why it's not allowed in lan.

Is there a way to put my synology in charge of pinging? get a device status  from my synology.
I allready having a php ping script working.
  • You can send a http command to Homey with the same PHP script.  With that command you can tap into the native presence api of Homey, presence app or http app.

thanx but thats my problem, i don't understand how to implement this in homey and http flow.
  • Have you tried the http trigger card? After disabling Authorization in the settings you can test it with your browser. Does that work for you?
After that try to recode a php curl example.
