Does Homey block outgoing http requests on non-standard ports?

I'm trying to create an app to allow Homey to control Squeezebox, but this involves a call out to port 9000.  I'm getting ECONNREFUSED and am wondering whether it's something to do with my code or whether Homey has an outbound firewall which blocks non-standard ports?

I dont think so, the better presence app connects to port 3000 which is also not a problem.

it is sometimes in the headers. i dont have any problem with outgoing ports on homey

Thanks for the pointers guys, I will continue investigating.  The weird thing is the exact same code works from my local pc to the remote machine (same LAN) but the moment it tries to run on homey, ERRCONNREFUSED.  Will check to see if there's some weird firewall on the remote machine or things of the like.  In the meantime, any further ideas are gratefully received.

A bit of work but you could try and switch IP addresses if you think it's a firewall issue?

Hi guys, turns out it was simple - DNS not resolving - but that does change my question above to "does homey disregard the DNS server provided by DHCP and use something else instead?" as my local DNS server should be (and is) resolving the name I was using.

In the meantime I'll use the IP to continue building!

Yep - looks like that's the answer.  Homey by default seems hardcoded to use Google DNS servers:

@emile - any chance of getting this changed to use DHCP assigned DNS servers?  Opened an issue - https://github.com/athombv/homey/issues/518
